About Albania

The Southeastern European country has been a mystery for decades during the communist regime isolation. In the last years it is finally gaining the deserved touristic attention with its unspoiled nature, being promoted as Europe’s hidden gem. Albania has also a rich ancient history as its countryside features countless citadels to visit and hidden historical sites to explore. And all these highlights come with a very affordable price, making travel to Albania very attractive.

Destinations

Albania’s nature is diverse ranging from rough mountains, turquoise beaches, breathtaking canyons and many UNESCO World Heritage Sites. In the rugged north, the “Accursed” mountains stand fierce as their peaks attract more and more adventurers. And in the south stretches one of the least known and most beautiful coastlines in all Europe. It’s all up to you and your interest as Albania offers destinations for everyone’s travel style.

Culture

What really makes Albania addictive is its people! Their hospitality and warmth to strangers might seem unusual in the times we are living 🙂 So expect to get surprised and spontaneously start swapping stories with the locals over some raki. The language they speak is one of the oldest and not similarity to any other, but most of Albanians speak a foreign language. The Albanian cuisine is a representative of the Mediterranean, based on the importance of olive oil, fruits, vegetables and fish.

Plan your trip

For citizens of USA, EU, UK and most of the world no visa is required for traveling to Albania. You can get there by any means of transportation, by plane, car or even by boat! If you chose to fly, we suggest the Corfu International Airport. Get in one of the low-cost airlines flying daily, take the ferry and in less than one hour you can reach Saranda, the starting point of our adventure. You can also fly over Tirana and we can arrange transportation to reach our group.

The South Albanian Experience Tour

The South Albanian Experience Tour (SAET) is made with love for everyone with an exploring spirit. For us it is all about the travel balance and local experience. In six days, we combine the best locations that South Albania has to offer including unexplored beaches, mountains, castles, ancient churches, delicious food and much more. We explore in small groups (not bigger than 10 people) to guarantee the balance between group time and “want to enjoy this alone” moments. Instead of spending endless time on buses rushing to check everything our itinerary is crafted to make you feel comfortable and most of the travel will be short distance road trips.

Throughout the whole itinerary we cooperate exclusively with local businesses and families as a way to also promote their local home-made products. SAET is not simply about getting from one location to the other but living the real experiences and small things they are made of. That is why we put our emphasis on people and the interactions that create the small moments. In our opinion the real highlights are things like drinking raki with locals talking about their favorite football teams, chilling in authentic small family owned shops, singing together with an iso polyphonic local group ect. Things you can’t really google because you actually have to feel:)
